2012 ACFW Genesis Contest Semi-Finalists Announced

Great news! Yesterday ACFW announced that I qualified as a semi-finalist in the ACFW Genesis Contest in the Young Adult category. What does that mean? My young adult story ranked in the top 20% of all entries in that category. This contest is a big deal, and just being named a semi-finalist is such an honor. I am truly humbled. And excited, too. 🙂

Due to judging restrictions, I can’t reveal the name of my entry until the judging is complete at the end of May. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know as soon as I find out what the judges comments were. I want to congratulate all of the Genesis Contest Semi-Finalists. Way to go! It’s time to celebrate. Here’s the complete list of the 2012 Genesis Semi-Finalists.

I also want to give a shout out to my fellow KC West ACFW chapter members who semi-finaled, Cora Allen for Contemporary Romance, Christina Rich and Lora Young for Historical Romance, and Sally Bradley for Women’s Fiction.

Thanks also to everyone who sent me email and Facebook congrats. They were so encouraging. For me, this couldn’t have come at a better time. No matter what happens next, I’m ecstatic! And that’s an understatement. 🙂
