Here’s all the places that inspired The Nexis Secret from the bagpiper on Times Square to my little college campus in Missouri. Enjoy the throwback pictures!
NYC Missions Trip
Times Square Bagpiper
Nope, I didn’t just make up the bagpiper on Times Square. He’s real peeps! Probably not a spy like in my book, but I had to make him more interesting, right?
All Star Cafe
Had to change my Hard Rock Cafe scene once I figured out that this All Star Cafe went out of business. 😦 Thanks Google maps for helping me stalk NYC!
Wish I was so cool I fit in anwywhere like my friend here, but no. I was behind the camera gagging on the not-so-faint subway stink. Ick!
Maybe it seems cool to jump the turnstiles, but DON’T DO IT KIDS! JK, these guys would never do something like that. 😉
We may or may not have been involved in a game of elevator tag, but it’s sure in the book! You decide.
Open Dorm Decorating blowout
A version of this brilliant cutout idea made into my book’s hall decorating scenes . . . unless you think Marilyn Monroe is a superhero. Then they’re exactly the same.
Man, if I coulda made a cool spin off this Benny Hinn crusade idea, I would’ve so put that in the book. But this bit of genius stands off by itself, untouchable in its hilarity. Enjoy!
Too many times I realized that art imitates life. This pic was totally out of my hall party scene, except no one played Mafia or asked if I was engaged. (Not here at least. That one’s in the book though 😉 )
Another example of art imitating life: a roomie I’d only known for two months threw me a surprise party my freshman year. How sweet is that?
